ABOUT

Orla Jackson was born in the West of Ireland and lives and works in London.  She completed her Masters in Printmaking at the Royal College of Art in 2023.  Orla is interested in the persistence of traces of the cultural and social past in the present and works with themes of belonging, diaspora and displacement.  She considers the symbolic meaning of colour and feels that colour has aura that can transform atmospheres.  Using repeated lines and geometric forms that generate movement and rhythm, her aim is to spark curiousity and make work that can both elevate mood and evoke reflective melancholic encounters.
