Alongside her artistic practice, Orla undertake's research-led projects that draw on archival material, personal histories and cultural memory. While some develop through partnerships with cultural organisations and community groups, others emerge from independent research and evolve into workshops, exhibitions or public events. She is particularly interested in creating welcoming spaces for people to explore ideas together through making, conversation and shared experiences.
